WHAT THE CHOIR SAYS:
"I want to tell you how much we have enjoyed coming to choir this year, we both love singing and it has been a great outlet for us and a good way to meet people - and what a lovely, diverse group of people they all are..... I have never done a performance on this scale before, it was quite a challenge and one I'm really proud of so thank you for that!" Gayle
"Singing with others is such a nice way to spend an evening and performing in the first Voicerox concert was truly exhilarating." Oli
"Thank you so much. I must say that once I finally got over feeling incredibly sick, I felt incredibly proud of everyone's achievements, and when I saw people standing up for us at the end, it really made it all worth while. Then to top it all, an elderly gentleman who I have never met before, made a point of coming up to me in the bar afterwards to say how well I sang and that means a lot. I also have a very proud nephew who thinks his auntie was awesome!! ??Everyone was fantastic and I am so glad to be part of such a fantastic choir." Karen
"Mel runs the choir very professionally, providing information – there’s never any excuse to not know what’s going on!, downloads of the songs we’re rehearsing, and in rehearsal’s runs a tight ship. This doesn’t mean it’s not fun, because it is! We learn songs from different genres, with different levels of difficulty and with lovely harmonies.
As a group of people we are varied in experience and ability but we all pull together and enjoy tackling the songs that Mel chooses and there is a real sense of achievement when we ‘get it’. We are a sociable bunch too and enjoy having a well deserved drink at the pub afterwards!! The show we did at the Harlequin obviously benefited from Mel’s vast experience in performing and all of my six guests (including two teenage girls – probably the toughest critics!) thoroughly enjoyed themselves and thought we were ‘excellent’ - Mel’s desire to put on a good show is infectious!!" Jo
"Mel uses a lot of personal energy and skill to motivate choir members of all abilities to join in. She is well prepared for rehearsals but has a flexible approach- so if her harmonies, arrangements or song choices do not fit the bill she is very able to redirect things. Her personal singing abilities are an inspiration to the choir." Pete
"First of all – a huge thank you. When I joined Voicerox in November I really did not know what to expect or what my expectations were. I suppose I just wanted to go along to a choir and do some singing. I hadn’t thought that within 7 months we would be performing a concert and me doing a solo – gulp..... The Group – what a great bunch of people; Mel – you have given us all, particularly me, belief that we can do this." Alun
"Voicerox choir is made up of friendly people and unusually for some choirs has a great male voice section! Mel, the musical director promotes enthusiasm and professionalism and inspires with her own lovely voice." Lorraine
It was a really positive experience and so enjoyable, thank you so much for the opportunity to be able to get up and do what we all love to do." Kathy
"I am famous for taking up hobbies that last a few weeks or starting courses that I never finish, so the fact that I'll be back in September is a glowing recommendation for the choir." Jeanette
I'm really enjoying it all. Cant wait til September!" Laura
WHAT THE PROFESSIONALS SAY:
“I first worked with Melanie in her capacity as a session singer, touring sold out arenas with Japanese megastar Eikichi Yazawa. I was struck by her outstanding voice and instinctive understanding of harmony and the blending of voices. She is that rare combination – a world class vocalist who really understands the human voice and is able to use her experience, knowledge and joyful enthusiasm in her role as a vocal coach.”
Milton McDonald – guitarist and backing vocalist for Take That, Ray Davies, Mick Jagger.
"Melanie Lewis has been involved with Björn Again for many years now, not only as a professional vocalist and performer, but additionally by inputting equal amounts of effort into studying the complex array of musical and vocal harmonies which are integral in ABBA’s vast catalogue of hits. I wish Voicerox every success and have no doubt that Mel will make it a huge success."

"I have only had the pleasure of working with Mel on a small number of occasions, but it was certainly enough to recognise her many musical gifts and talents. Mel is a true professional; and credits herself on always being punctual and over-prepared for whatever is expected of her. To add to this she is a perfectionist and will not leave until the client is more than satisfied with her work. Her wealth of experience in terms of harmony, vocal arrangements and timing are unprecedented as well as her hardworking ethos, which has always made her very popular within the music industry.
I would also like to add that whoever hires Mel as their Musical Director is very fortunate indeed, as she is a genuine, musical treasure and someone who can be totally relied upon."
